Dr. Sterns is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine and received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, an affiliate of the University of California, San Diego.
Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Sterns has a special interest in geriatric health, arthritis, and sports medicine. He enjoys providing in-depth, comprehensive care for adults. “I always take the time to fully explain and answer all questions and review treatment options in terms my patients understand,” he says.
While in medical school, he served as Director of Chicago Medical School’s Exercise Center and athletic programs, and afterwards as physician advisor for the San Diego County Mountain Rescue Team. Currently, he is a volunteer coach for ironman participants.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Sterns enjoys bicycling, beach and trail running, as well as hiking and snow skiing with his wife and twin daughters.
