Dr. Homayon Iraninezhad (Dr. “I”) is double board-certified fellowship-trained gastroenterologist and internist. He has extensive training in the treatment of cirrhosis, hepatobiliary disorders, functional bowel syndrome, gut visceral hypersensitivity syndrome,
colon polyps, colon cancer, liver disease, celiac disease, pancreatic disorders, motility disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, and many other GI conditions.

Dr. I completed his undergraduate and pre-med studies here locally at UC Irvine, where he double majored in chemistry and biological sciences with a focus on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. He went on to earn his medical degree at Western University in Pomona, CA. Dr. I completed his internal medicine internship/residency training at Valley hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada followed by his gastroenterology fellowship training at University of North Texas in Fort Worth.

During his training, he has received many awards including Intern of the year, resident of the year, chief resident, fellow of the year and chief fellow. He has also been published in many magazines as “TOP DOCTOR” in gastroenterology and received the Physician Excellence Award for Compassion. Of note, at the end of his fellowship, Dr. I did receive the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award as being an Outstanding Resident Role model.

Dr. I also enjoys teaching and has been involved with medical student/resident training programs including teaching/rounding with internal medicine residents and gastroenterology fellows in the past.

From 2020-2024, Dr. I also served as the Chair of Internal Medicine as well as President/Chief of Staff while practicing at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.

When he’s not working, Dr. I enjoys spending time with family, as well as playing competitive pickleball!!!
